CTOnews.com learned from the report that the International Lunar Research Station will be implemented step by step according to three stages. It is planned to build a basic type by 2028 to carry out lunar environment exploration and resource utilization test verification; A perfect type will be built by 2040 to carry out space environment exploration and scientific experiments on the sun, earth and moon, and a comprehensive constellation of magpie bridges will be built to serve manned lunar landing and deep space exploration such as Mars and Venus; After that, an applied lunar research station will be built, which will be gradually upgraded from a scientific research experimental station to a practical and multifunctional lunar base.

Wu Weiren said that Chang 'e-6 will be launched around 2024 to carry out the lunar back sampling return mission; Chang' e-7 will be launched around 2026 to carry out detailed investigation of the environment and resources of the lunar south pole; Chang 'e-8 will be launched around 2028 to carry out lunar resource utilization test verification and construct the basic type of lunar scientific research station.
