At the opening ceremony, the China National Space Administration and the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization signed a joint statement on the cooperation of the International Lunar Research Station.

The statement pointed out: the two sides will carry out extensive and in-depth cooperation in the demonstration, project implementation, operation and application of the International Lunar Research Station. Specific areas of cooperation include, but are not limited to, joint demonstration of scientific objectives, joint design and development of spacecraft, scientific instrument carrying, scientific and technological experiments, data analysis, education and training, etc.

According to official reports, the International Lunar Research Station is a comprehensive scientific experimental facility jointly built by China, which will operate independently on the lunar surface and lunar orbit for a long time, with short-term participation, expandable and maintainable.

According to reports, the International Lunar Research Station will be implemented step by step according to the principle of "overall planning, step-by-step implementation and construction while using". It plans to build the basic model by 2028, carry out lunar environmental exploration and resource utilization tests, build a perfect model by 2040, carry out sun-earth-moon space environment exploration and scientific experiments, and build a magpie bridge integrated constellation to serve manned lunar landing and deep space exploration such as Mars and Venus. After that, an applied lunar research station was built, which was gradually upgraded from a scientific research experimental station to a practical and multi-functional lunar base.

He also mentioned that as an important task in the basic construction phase of the international lunar research station, Chang'e-6 will be launched before 2024 to carry out the lunar back sampling and return mission; Chang'e-7 will be launched before and after 2026 to carry out a detailed survey of the environment and resources at the South Pole of the moon; and Chang'e-8 will be launched before and after 2028 to carry out experiments on the utilization of lunar resources to construct the basic type of lunar research stations.

The scientific research station is composed of five infrastructure: lunar transportation system, lunar long-term operation guarantee system, lunar transportation and operating system, lunar scientific research facility system, ground support and application system. It has the support capabilities of energy supply, central control, communication and navigation, round trip between heaven and earth, lunar scientific research and ground support. We will continue to carry out multi-disciplinary, multi-objective and large-scale scientific and technological activities, such as scientific exploration and research, development and utilization of resources, and verification of cutting-edge technologies.

In addition, Wu Yanhua revealed that China is demonstrating the magpie bridge guidance and telemetry integrated system plan, which is intended to support the deep space exploration mission objectives of our country and cooperative countries in accordance with the "three-step" plan. Among them, the Magpie Bridge II relay star will be launched in early 2024. As a public relay satellite platform for the fourth phase of lunar exploration, it will provide relay communication services for Chang'e missions 4, 6, 7 and 8. The mission will also carry two magpie bridge navigation technology test satellites, Tiandu No.1 and Tiandu No.2, to carry out key technology verification.
