CTOnews.com April 25 news, driving assistance system in China is a new industry, it is characterized by intelligence and information, the use of advanced technology to improve the safety, handling and efficiency of vehicles.

With the continuous update of intelligent vehicle technology and the increasing requirements of automobile consumers for intelligent safety performance, the market scale of China's driving assistance system industry will continue to grow rapidly.

According to the person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, at present, China's intelligent Internet vehicles have changed from small-scale testing and verification to a new stage of rapid technological development and ecological acceleration. In the next step, China will promote the high-quality development of intelligent network-connected vehicles as a whole.

Intelligent Internet connected vehicle integrates many kinds of innovative technologies, such as Internet of things, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and so on. It is a new competitive focus for the development of emerging industries around the world.

Guo Shougang, deputy director of the first Department of equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, revealed that China's new guidelines for the construction of intelligent Internet connection automobile standard system will be officially released and implemented in the near future, speeding up the development of more than 10 key points in urgent need of national standards.

It is said that 17 national test and demonstration zones and four national vehicle networking pilot areas have been built in China, and various localities have accelerated the deployment of test demonstration and infrastructure construction. The country has opened more than 9000 km of test roads and issued more than 1900 test licenses.

In terms of industrial scale, in 2022, the sales of new intelligent passenger cars equipped with driving assistance systems in China reached 7 million, an increase of 45.6 percent over the same period last year, and the market penetration increased to 34.9 percent, an increase of 11.4 percent over 2021.

In terms of key components, breakthroughs have been made in key technologies such as the new generation of electronic and electrical architecture, automotive operating systems, large computing chips, lidar and so on.

At the International Automotive key Technology Forum held earlier this month, Hou Fushen, deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineering, said that the carrying rate of L2-level auxiliary driving technology for fuel vehicles in 2022 was 32%, and the penetration rate of new energy vehicles was much higher than that of conventional vehicles by 46%.

Pexels with regard to auxiliary driving, the International Institute of Automata Engineers has proposed six autopilot levels from L0 to L5, and the technical level is also gradually increasing. Among them, L0 autopilot is no automation (No Automation), L5 autopilot refers to fully autopilot (Full Automation), while the current mainstream level of the industry is mostly at L2 level.

It is worth mentioning that Mercedes-Benz was approved by the German Federal Transport Agency in December last year and became a manufacturer that can legally use the L3-level autopilot assistance system in Germany. At present, Mercedes-Benz has been approved to deploy its "Drive Pilot" autopilot assistance system in Nevada, California and Germany, and Mercedes-Benz has applied for permission in Beijing.

However, the Mercedes-Benz driving assistance system is not cheap. The German Mercedes-Benz S-Class and EQS are priced at 5000 euros (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 37700 yuan), while the EQS model also needs to be equipped with a "Driver Assistance Package Plus" function worth 2430 euros, which will cost more than 50,000 yuan.

In September last year, in order to promote the high-quality development of the intelligent network automobile industry, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the National vehicle networking Industry Standard system Construction Guide (Intelligent Network connected Automobile) (2022 edition) (draft for soliciting opinions). And solicit opinions from all walks of life.

The document points out that by 2025, the system will form an intelligent online vehicle standard system that can support the combination of driving assistance and self-driving general functions. Develop and revise more than 100 related standards for intelligent Internet-connected vehicles, covering standards such as combined driving assistance, self-driving key systems, network-connected basic functions and operating systems, high-performance computing chips and data applications, and run through safety standards such as functional safety, expected functional security, network security and data security, to meet the standardization needs of intelligent Internet-connected automobile technology, industrial development and government management.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology pointed out that by 2030, an intelligent online vehicle standard system will be fully formed, which can support the coordinated development of bicycle intelligence and network endowment. Therefore, it is necessary to revise more than 130 related standards of intelligent Internet vehicles and establish implementation effect evaluation and dynamic improvement mechanisms to meet the requirements of combined driving assistance, self-driving and Internet-connected functions in full-scene application, and to establish and improve the security system and the support system of software, hardware and data resources. The coordination of international standards and regulations in key areas such as self-driving has reached an advanced level, with intelligent network vehicles as the core carrier and application carrier to pull the coordinated development of "car-road-cloud" to achieve innovation integration drive, cross-domain coordination and domestic and international coordination.
