Because of this problem, Asustek has removed the old version of BIOS, and now MSI has announced firmware updates to address potential problems, including X670E, X670, B650 and A620.

According to reports, MSI locked the voltage control option of the X3D chip in the new BIOS, eliminating the support for positive offset voltage regulation of CPU. Looking ahead, users may have to adjust the negative offset voltage on the X3D chip (only step-down) to ensure that the 3D cache is not at risk of damage due to overvoltage.

In fact, when AMD launched the R7 5800X3D, it repeatedly stressed that there was a voltage limit in 3D cache, so they did not intend to release the overclocking feature of CPU in the first place. MSI also pointed out that the recent reports of 7000X3D CPU damage may have been caused by abnormal voltage.

It should be noted that the 7000X3D series CPU does not support manual voltage and frequency modulation, only PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive) overclocking. In order to prevent overvoltage and reduce the risk of damage to the 7000X3D series CPU, MSI has added some restrictions in both BIOS and MSI Center software.

For those who want to enhance the performance of CPU, MSI also provides an option called "enhanced Mode (Enhanced Mode Boost)" in BIOS, which makes it easy for users to optimize PBO, so that 7000X3D series CPU can achieve better performance without any manual adjustment.

MSI has launched a new version of BIOS for 14 motherboards, ranging from A620 to X670E chipsets.

When the motherboard recognizes that the processor is the Ruilong 7000X3D series, it will set the default shielding voltage and only support the negative offset voltage regulation option.
