On the open day, academic experts, platform creators, media, Douyin and other parties exchanged experiences on managing pain points and coping with the theme of "protecting creators' rights and interests", and jointly discussed how to deal with the new type of infringement brought about by "AI creation".

Nine acts may be convicted of infringement

On the open day, Douyin first introduced nine kinds of violations of other people's copyright and personal rights, as well as the judgment criteria of the platform. "We split the infringement of other people's copyright into two scenarios: handling and plagiarism," said Mark, Douyin's security product manager, in the form of video theft of other people's original works and video copying of other people's original content or ideas.

Douyin original Protection Center officially launched

In order to facilitate the majority of users to protect their rights and interests through reporting, after the new original protection center is launched, on the one hand, Douyin has set up a quick entrance for infringement reports, and creators can find entry cards by searching Douyin App for infringement reports, and can quickly locate and initiate reports based on browsing records. On the other hand, the creator can check the moved video and initiate a report with one click to avoid the problem of difficult positioning and reporting of infringing content. At the same time, the platform also combs out common torts, such as "portrait exposure", "insulting abuse", "handling, plagiarism" and so on, with simple and direct copywriting to guide creators to safeguard their rights.

In addition to simplifying the reporting process, Chen Shu stressed that Douyin also attaches great importance to the limitation of feedback on infringement reports. At present, Douyin has raised the average feedback limitation for reporting through the page entry from 7 working days to 24 hours. At the same time, Douyin also regularly announces its governance of infringement through the Douyin blackboard newspaper and other forms. Original protection faces new challenges such as infringement of "AI creation"

Although a number of measures have been taken, there are still challenges in dealing with infringement. Douyin frankly said that in the governance of a single platform, there are difficulties in eliminating, identifying and identifying ownership, as well as new challenges such as "infringement of AI creation".

On the other hand, it is unclear whether AI is not a natural person and still enjoys copyright that only "people" can enjoy.
