Beijing, April 24 (Xinhua)-- Russia's Federal savings Bank (Sberbank) joined the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot battle on Monday, announcing that it has released a technology called GigaChat to compete with ChatGPT.

At the end of last year, OpenAI, a startup backed by Microsoft, launched the chat robot ChatGPT, which set off a sprint to put AI into the hands of more users in the technology industry. Companies want to reshape the way people work and win business in the process.

The GigaChat will initially be in test mode and will be restricted to invited users, according to Sberbank. What makes GigaChat unique is that it can communicate more intelligently in Russian than other foreign neural networks.

Sberbank, a large bank that dominates Russia, has invested heavily in science and technology in recent years in an attempt to reduce Russia's dependence on imports.
