The research team has built a full-scale test line of "high-speed flying car" in Datong, Shanxi Province, and recently completed the first full-scale superconducting navigation test, CCTV reported. In the next step, the team will continue to carry out more experiments on the first phase of Datong to verify the reliability of the whole system.
According to officials, high-speed cars can be used for transportation between mega-city clusters in the future, with a speed of up to 1000 kilometers per hour. In other words, it will be faster than an ordinary civil airliner (CTOnews.com), or even close to the speed at which the bullet was loaded.
Experts say that to achieve this speed is not achieved overnight, a large number of experiments need to be carried out step by step. Previously, the test team has completed ultra-high-speed magnetic levitation and electromagnetic propulsion tests under non-vacuum conditions, with a speed of 623 kilometers per hour.
The first full-scale superconducting navigation test in China has successfully verified the key technologies such as high dynamic superconducting magnet, high power multi-converter, high voltage resistant integrated module, high excitation suspension frame, high precision positioning and velocity measurement, wireless communication of airtight space pipeline, whole process safety control, high precision track intelligent inspection and so on.
According to public data, the full-scale test line (phase I) of ultra-high-speed and low-vacuum pipeline maglev transportation system is a demonstration project of "central-local cooperation" between China Aerospace Science and Industry Group Co., Ltd. and the people's Government of Shanxi Province. The main leaders of both sides are personally in charge of the project promotion leading group. The project was approved in September 2021 and officially started construction in April 2022. It is the longest and largest test line of full-scale ultra-high-speed and low-vacuum pipeline maglev transportation system under construction in the world.
In order to speed up the progress of the project construction, the project group creatively adopted the mode of "building, integrating and testing at the same time". In less than a year, it completed the infrastructure construction of the test base and the first phase of the test line, completed the integrated debugging of the first stage of equipment, and successfully completed the permanent magnet and superconducting navigation test.
