Net profit of NT $206.9 billion, up 2.1% year-on-year and down 30% month-on-month, exceeded market expectations, but this was the smallest increase in four years. TSMC expects Q2 sales of US$15.2 billion to US$16 billion; it expects second-quarter gross margin of 52-54% and forecasts full-year capital expenditure of US$32 billion to US$36 billion, with no investment cuts compared with rumors.
