CTOnews.com, April 24 (Xinhua) Tesla is a well-known electric car manufacturer, but its CEO Elon Musk is not just a car tycoon. He is also the CEO of space exploration technology company SpaceX, brain-computer interface company Neuralink and social media Twitter, and the founder of The Boring Company. Some Tesla investors were dissatisfied with such a busy life, who expressed their opinions to Tesla's board of directors through an open letter.

Signatories to the letter include the American Federation of Banks (Amalgamated Bank), the Office of the Financial Inspector General of New York City, the Danish Pension Foundation (PensionDanmark), the Social Justice Investor Initiative (Investor Advocates for Social Justice) and the good Shepherd Sisters (Sisters of the Good Shepherd). In their letter, they point out that the board should intervene in Mr Musk's distractions or look for a chief executive who can focus on Tesla full-time. They also proposed to reform the board to remove directors with close ties to Mr Musk.

These investors believe such a strategy is necessary because Tesla is facing increasing competition in the electric car market, as well as multiple pressures such as the global regulatory environment, consumer preferences, supply chain challenges and investor expectations. They worry that Tesla will not be able to deal with these problems without a full-time chief executive and a board that can provide effective oversight.

CTOnews.com notes that it is not the first time that Mr Musk's part-time status as chief executive of Tesla has been questioned. The topic was also brought up last year in a trial about Mr Musk's pay package. According to Antonio Gracia, a former director of Tesla, the board considered finding someone else to replace Musk as chief executive, but failed. "We can't find the right person." Gracia said.
