Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, April 23 (Xinhua)-- Apple will replace almost all its iPad, MacBook and external monitors with OLED displays by 2027, according to technology research firm Omdia.
Omdia's latest IT OLED display forecast shows that global OLED display shipments will grow sharply from 9.7 million to more than 70 million units from 2022 to 2028. This growth is mainly driven by demand for laptops and tablets, and Apple's extensive use of OLED displays will be an important factor.
CTOnews.com notes that Omdia's predictions are in line with other rumors. Omdia believes that Apple will start using OLED displays on the iPad Pro next year, and then launch the OLED MacBook Pro in 2026. Apple will basically phase out LCD and mini-LED displays on mobile devices by 2026.
In 2027, Apple will also start using QD-OLED or WOLED panels to make 32-inch and 42-inch displays that could be used in future iMac or external displays. At present, Apple's only Pro Display XDR product uses a 32-inch display, not a 42-inch device.
