CTOnews.com notes that HC-X1500 will inherit the "setting of linear / non-linear focusing rings" function. The firmware also adds two picture frame marker aspect ratio settings and an one-click automatic aperture function. HC-X2 and HC-X20 updates will also add an one-click automatic aperture function.

The new gain preset function of the firmware can quickly adapt to changes in ambient brightness and other shooting environments. When the camera is powered off, the user can reset the automatic exposure level to 0EV. And the recording file format of the HC-X2 dual codec will include MP4 and interlaced video formats.
