How to use the "lines" in the picture to construct a good photo?

The "point" in photography can be understood as the element with small area in the picture and different from the surrounding environment, such as the person in the panoramic picture, the eyes, nose and mouth in the close-up of the face, etc., which can be understood as "point" abstractly.

Although all kinds of "dots" seem to occupy a relatively small part of the picture, many times they can play the role of "finishing touch" and have a great influence on the composition and color of photos.

Generally speaking, the "point" element in the photo can be divided into single point, two points and multiple points. Let's analyze it in turn:

1. A single small element in a single point photo can be seen as a "single point," such as a bird in the sky or a football on the field.

When we apply single-point elements, we should focus on the composition problem, that is, the position of the "point" in the photo. If we need to highlight the existence of the point, we can place it in an important position in the picture:

(1) Center composition puts a single point element in the center of the picture, opens the door, directly highlights the presence of the point, suitable for minimalist style or symmetrical style.

(2) Three-point composition can put point elements on the three-point line, or on the intersection point of interest of "well" character grid, which can avoid rigidity and highlight its existence sense, which is suitable for most styles.

(3) Contrast composition If we want to use single-point elements to build a sense of contrast and contrast in the picture, we can put single-point elements on the edge of the picture or near the corner, so that seemingly "awkward" composition can form a great sense of contrast, but also can have an emphasis effect.

2. Two points When there are two points in the picture, the sense of interaction appears, and we all know that "two points can determine a line segment," so their relative position and the line segment between them are also worth considering.

(1) Balance If you use two points in the picture to build symmetry, then the photo will show a good sense of balance, up and down symmetry, left and right symmetry, central symmetry are very suitable for the performance of two elements, but also very suitable for the performance of interaction.

(2) Size, virtual reality, position relationship Sometimes there is a key element and a secondary element (foil element) in two points, then we can use size, virtual reality, position to express this relationship:

Use the perspective principle of "near big far small" to express the more important "point" of the two points;

By controlling the depth of field, the more important "points" are in the clear range of in-focus, and the "points" of foil are blurred out of focus;

Control the positional relationship of different points, and put important "points" in more prominent positions in the screen.

3. Multi-point When there is a multi-point relationship in the photo, the interaction between the points is more intense, and at the same time, the points between the points can not only be connected to lines, but also form closed graphics, so the composition is more important.

(1) Stable regular, orderly points will appear more stable, we can look for this "regularity" when shooting multi-point subjects, such as multi-point alignment, symmetrical distribution, etc.

At the same time, in the multi-point arrangement, we can try to apply "triangular composition" to construct stability. The so-called "triangular composition" does not mean that there are only three points in the picture, but a pattern similar to "triangle" can be formed among multiple points. Such distribution can also show stability.

(2) Highlighting the key points is similar to two points. There are often a few key elements in multiple points. The principles mentioned above also apply.

Also note that when there are multiple points, the point near the center, or surrounded by other points, will be more prominent, and we can place the key element at this position.
