CTOnews.com April 22, Seagate (Seagate) said in a press release today that it has begun to deliver thermal-assisted magnetic recording technology (HAMR) hard drives above 30TB to cloud data center customers. Seagate also said it would release sales of its HAMR-based Corvault system in the coming weeks.

Dave Mosley, CEO of Seagate, CTOnews.com translated, delivered the following speech: "We are moving forward as planned, reaching an important milestone last week: delivering the first qualified samples to our partners. We are further advancing the Corvault system solution and are expected to see initial revenue from devices above 30TB this quarter."

Revenue represents Seagate testing, delivery of HAMR hard drives above 30TB, and payment will be received after Seagate customers complete the test.
