This kind of photo is not really taken at the moment when the food falls, because the falling process is very fast, and it is difficult to control the location and state of each food, and the photos can not meet our requirements.

So we have to manually put the food in the air to create a visual effect. This is somewhat similar to the original special effects of movies and TV dramas. There are many ways to shoot, as long as the goal can be achieved, do not rigidly adhere to the process.

The following is a picture of strawberries hanging in the air that I took at home, with a black background and no other splash matching elements, which is the most basic floating photo.

Here are the tidbits of the scene when I took the photo, and the props used are also very simple. Find a black dress to spread on the floor, then put the strawberries on it, put a small piece of wood at the bottom to act as a "table", and put some strawberries on the "table".

Put the camera on a tripod and shoot it with a vertical composition, and you can get a picture of strawberries flying in the air. As the light was relatively dark at night, I also used a lamp to make up the light.

When taking still life photos, it is recommended that people put the camera on the tripod, because still life photography requires high details, you need to look at the camera screen and repeatedly adjust the position of food in order to achieve the best condition. Fixing the camera at this time is more convenient for observation.

Other types of floating photos, what if I want to shoot the effect of a liquid splash? At this time, you can use the normal suspension shooting perspective, in front of the black background, let the spray fall and capture, and finally through PS and other image modification software for synthesis. Spray cannot be laid on the ground, so it can only be captured in a conventional way.

If the food on the table is complicated, how do you shoot it? At this time, you can take pictures of table food in the usual way, but with the same background. In this way, the desktop part is photographed. Then spread the background on the ground, put the suspended food, and take a picture of the suspended part. Finally, the two parts are synthesized.

Note: because it is taken separately, it is necessary to pay attention to the distance between the food and the camera and the focal length of the lens, otherwise the size difference of the food will be obvious and will be worn through.

If I don't want to take floating photos with a solid color background, how should I take them?

You can choose to use toothpicks and thread to hang up the suspended food, and then smear off the toothpicks and thread at a later stage, and the food will float automatically.

Or you can still shoot the floating part with a black background on the ground, then drag the photo of the floating part to PS and change the layer blending mode to "filter" to eliminate the black area.
