CTOnews.com April 22, Lyft's new CEO David Risher announced that he will launch a new round of layoffs next Thursday. According to the Wall Street Journal, the job cuts affected 1200 people, accounting for more than 30 per cent.

We need to be a faster, flatter company that brings everyone closer to our passengers and drivers. Only in this way can we move towards our goal.

We need to reduce costs to provide affordable ride services, attract drivers' income and profit growth. We intend to use these savings to invest in competitive prices, faster pick-up time and better driver income.

All of this requires us to downsize and reorganize the way we are organized.
