CTOnews.com April 21 news, Jiang Bolong Electronic FORESEE recently launched the brand's first SATA SSD product specifically suitable for multi-channel vehicle monitoring, which has been widely used in vehicle equipment.

FORESEE vehicle monitoring SSD has 2.5in and M.2 2280 forms, using 3K PE Cycle 3D TLC NAND Flash particles, DRAM-less solution and Jiangbolong self-developed firmware, and provides a variety of capacity options such as 512GB, 1TB, 2TB, can support 24-way 1080p HD video recording equipment.

Compared with the traditional PC application scenario, the vehicle multi-channel video recording scenario has certain particularity. Its writing to LBA (CTOnews.com Note: logical block address) is not written and used in a circular manner. The block size of each region is not consistent, and the disk space occupancy rate reaches 100%. With the continuous writing of video data, LBA becomes very random, so SSD GC behavior is triggered frequently, resulting in slow and volatile terminal performance, which leads to frame drop problem. In addition, the common adverse environmental factors such as strong vibration, high and low temperature fluctuations and humidity changes in vehicle application scenes also bring many challenges to vehicle monitoring.

FORESEE vehicle monitoring SSD design takes into account the actual vehicle application scenarios, on the one hand, the product software through flash block management algorithm to maximize OP space, so as to improve garbage collection efficiency and reduce WA (write magnification). On the other hand, the product combines data diversion algorithm and data hot and cold identification algorithm to reduce data fragmentation and GC wear, so as to improve the service life of the product. In addition, the product also supports self-research functions such as online upgrade of S.M.A.R.T firmware, temperature control technology, and LDPC error correction, which can provide error correction capability for terminal devices during the life cycle, ensure uninterrupted and stable operation in hot, cold, humid and other climates and environments, and improve the reliability and security of video recording data.

The vehicle monitoring system usually supports SATA I and SATA II interfaces, while the FORESEE vehicle monitoring SSD is designed in accordance with SATA III specifications, and the interface is downwards compatible. At the same time, it is also a good preparation for the interface iteration of the subsequent vehicle monitoring system.

FORESEE vehicle Monitoring SSD is developing a product solution for 4TB capacity and QLC flash memory, which is expected to be launched one after another this year.
