CTOnews.com, April 21 (Xinhua)-- the new Google Pixel 7a phone is expected to be released on May 10, and it is now revealed that the Google Pixel 7a phone will support facial unlocking. Once again, the rendered image shows a thick border around the Google Pixel 7a display.

Some Pixel 7a renderings shared by whistleblower SnoopyTech on Twitter show that the phone has facial unlocking and fingerprint unlocking settings. Despite many rumors, the Pixel 6 series has never been equipped with a facial unlock feature. Instead, Google added this feature to the Pixel 7 series, possibly through a newer 10.8MP front camera.

Like the Pixel 6 series, Google may change its mind at the last minute and remove the feature. Even if the Pixel 7a offers facial unlocking, it will be limited to unlocking the phone. For security reasons, users must still use on-screen fingerprint recognition to verify payments. This is because Google and other Android phones usually offer only 2D facial unlocking, which is not safe.

According to revelations, the Google Pixel 7a will have a rear 64 million main camera and a 1300-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens; the screen refresh rate will be increased to 90Hz, which supports wireless charging, starting at $499 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 3433 yuan).
