OpenEuler Developer Day 2023 will be held online and offline simultaneously from April 20 to 21. This conference is under the guidance of Open Atomic Open Source Foundation and co-sponsored by China Software Industry Association, openEuler Community and Edge Computing Industry Alliance. With the theme of "thousands of trickles, surging forward", the conference aims to promote innovation and breakthroughs in operating systems and basic software.

After three years of open source, Euler has exceeded expectations and has entered a positive cycle and self-accelerating ecological development system. Up to now, there are more than 800 ecological partners in Euler Community, with more than 13000 contributors, more than 1 million downloads worldwide, nearly 4000 daily active developers, more than 2000 new discussions per day and 10 new innovative projects per month, which is comparable to the international mainstream open source community. OpenEuler has achieved exponential growth in commercial installed capacity, with a cumulative deployment of more than 3 million units, accounting for more than 25 per cent of the new market share in 2022. Euler is becoming the preferred technology route for digital transformation and a solid software foundation for thousands of industries. Ni Guangnan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and member of the openEuler Community Advisory expert Committee, said in a speech at the conference, "with the joint efforts of open source workers around the world, openEuler has developed into an open source community with international influence. The community brings together a large number of dynamic, enthusiastic and intelligent developers, and openEuler has become a model of open source in China."

Yang Chaobin, director of Huawei and president of ICT products and solutions, said in his speech that the high-quality development of the digital economy requires a strong digital infrastructure, the operating system is the soul of the digital infrastructure, and the development of the openEuler open source operating system has built a solid software foundation for the digital infrastructure.

"following the establishment of a project group by openEuler in December 2022, openEuler has entered a new phase of open source governance." Over the past three years, the openEuler open source community has accepted contributions from 393 original projects. In December 2022, the Open Atomic Open Source Foundation officially approved openEuler as a project group that can accept donated projects.

At this conference, five major projects completed donation Ouler's intention to sign, including: Gostone from Telecom Tianyi Cloud for security and high-performance authentication of cloud operating systems; CTinspector from Telecom Tianyi Cloud, CTinspector from Telecom Tianyi Cloud to achieve multi-node operation and maintenance and inspection through ebpf technology; ZVM from Hunan University, embedded real-time virtual machine based on Zypher Rust-Shyper from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Type-1 virtual machine monitor for embedded scenarios based on Rust, and QuickPool from Hua Heng Sheng Shi, which provides computing power scheduling for large-scale computing. The addition of these open source projects promotes the continuous expansion of Euler ecology and accelerates the prosperity of a new generation of basic software ecology.

OpenEuler Industrial operating system Preparatory Committee officially established to accelerate Euler's full-scene application

With the approval of the plenary meeting of the openEuler Committee, the openEuler Industrial operating system Preparatory Committee was formally established.

There are 12 members of the openEuler Industrial operating system Preparatory Committee, which come from the core manufacturers in the upper and lower reaches of the industrial chain, including hardware, OSV and academic institutions. Lu Weifeng, vice president of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, served as an advisory expert to the Preparatory Committee. The Preparatory Committee combs and defines the application scenarios of the operating system in the industrial field with the power of the industrial chain, and iterates and evolves rapidly based on a unified architectural blueprint and with the open source community as the collaboration platform.

The Industrial operating system Preparatory Committee will accelerate the promotion of Euler in the industrial and robotic fields, and accelerate the incubation of embedded capabilities and ROS capabilities.

Academician Wu Hequan said: "the future development of the industrial Internet requires the full-scene capability innovation of the digital infrastructure with end-edge cloud collaboration, and the realization of end-edge cloud interconnection and collaboration at the operating system level is one of the important supports. I believe that Euler will effectively help China's industrial Internet usher in a great-leap-forward development."

The three partners released the embedded commercial version based on openEuler, tamping Euler full scene Ecology in March 2023, and openEuler 23.03 release, jointly completed by 908 contributors to the community. This version continues to enhance the ability of the whole scene, and the embedded commercial version is officially released, which strengthens the ecology of the whole scene of Euler. Embedded orderly innovation core competence based on target architecture enables user innovation scenarios such as industrial control, robot and end-edge cloud collaboration, and accelerates the process of digital transformation in the industrial field in the digital intelligence era.

The embedded version of openEuler is becoming more and more mature and commercial, making up the last link of Euler's full scene capability. This conference Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area National Technology Innovation Center, Chengdu Jingrong Lianchuang Technology Co., Ltd. released a commercial release based on openEuler embedded capability, and Kirin Xinan is also preparing for the release. This indicates that the embedded innovation of the Euler community has landed on the commercial scene.

Go deep into scene innovation and accelerate industry application

Together with industry users, Euler also carries out joint innovation according to the actual scene of the industry, through the whole process of fast, good use and easy operation and maintenance, to help users achieve performance improvement, efficient and intelligent operation and maintenance, and accelerate large-scale deployment in the industry. At the meeting, China Telecom Tianyi Yun, China Mobile Su Yan, China Mobile IT, Runhe Software, and Darling Robot brought five panoramic joint innovation solutions to showcase the innovation achievements based on openEuler. Guodian Nanrui works with Kirin Xinan, China Pacific Insurance with Uni-Credit Software, Shenwan Hongyuan with Super Fusion, Guojin Securities with Kirin Software to share openEuler-based business practices, and openEuler is deeply promoting digitization in various industries.

Integrate into the global open source system and contribute Euler wisdom to the global open source

OpenEuler actively connects with the four major open source foundations in the world, and has completed 95% of the project compatibility support. For platform open source software, such as OpenStack, KubeEdge, OpenHPC, Hadoop, Spark, etc., it has achieved the native support of the upstream community. It covers mainstream application scenarios such as cloud native, big data, distributed storage, database, HPC and so on, so that global users can easily deploy and use openEuler.
