CTOnews.com, April 21 (Xinhua)-- Indian Deputy Minister of Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar told Reuters on Wednesday that Apple's investment and exports in India will double or even quadruple in the next few years.

Apple CEO Tim Cook met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and reaffirmed Apple's commitment to invest in the region.

Cook thanked Modi on Twitter for his warm reception and said: "We share your belief that technology can have a positive impact on India's future-from education and developers to manufacturing and the environment. We are committed to development and investment across the country."

Rajeev Chandrasekhar also participated in the meeting, and CTOnews.com translated part of his interview as follows: "We have great confidence in Apple. The two sides have broad room for cooperation in investment, growth, export and employment, and the scale of investment is expected to double or triple."
