CTOnews.com reported on April 20 that last year's Acer Chromebook Spin 714 was equipped with Intel Core i7-1260p processor, 16GB memory and 512GB storage space. Now Acer has launched a 2023 newer model with up to Intel Core i7-1365U processors, 32GB memory and 1TB storage space. The new Acer Chromebook Spin 714 CP714-2W will go on sale in May with a price starting at $700 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 4823 yuan).

The laptop is equipped with a 56Wh battery, an aluminum body, stereo speakers with DTS audio and a QHD webcam.

Acer's new Chromebook Spin 714s feature a 14-inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel touch screen that supports 360-degree flip and can use laptops, tablets, tents or standing mode, as well as a "quick-charging USI stylus" for taking notes or drawing on the screen.

Although the 2023 model is equipped with 15W U-series processors instead of 28W P-series chips, Acer said the new model "provides up to 10 per cent performance improvement" over the previous generation.

The new laptop processor options, including Intel Core i3-1315U, Core i5-1335U, Core i7-1355U and Core i7-1365U, will be equipped with LPDDR4X memory for 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB (which cannot be upgraded by users themselves), as well as 128GB PCIe Gen 3 NVMe solid state storage or 256GB, 512GB or 1TB faster PCIe Gen 4 storage.

Other features include WiFi 6e and Bluetooth 5.2, two Thunderbolt ports, one HDMI port, backlit keyboard and optional support for fingerprint readers.

The laptop measures 313 x 224 x 18 mm (12.3 inches x 8.8 inches x 0.7 inches) and weighs 1.37 kilograms.
