CTOnews.com, April 20 (Xinhua)-- Apple's upcoming 15-inch MacBook Air model will be equipped with two M2 chips, according to Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Mr Guo said the new MacBook Air was expected to be equipped with two M2 chip options with a different number of cores from existing 13-inch models. Previously, Guo Mingyi predicted that the new 15-inch MacBook would be equipped with M2 or M2 Pro chips.

Apple's 13-inch MacBook Air with M2 chip launched in 2022 has 8-core and 10-core GPU versions, while the 2020 M1 model has 7-core and 8-core GPU options. As a result, the 15-inch MacBook Air is likely to be the same as the 13-inch model in chip specifications.

Guo Mingyi also confirmed that the new model will be clearly marked as 15 inches MacBook as "MacBook Air", not a new product line. He expects shipments of the equipment to reach 500 to 6 million units in 2023, with shipments of EMS (CTOnews.com) and components peaking at the end and early stages of Q3 in 2023. Bloomberg Mark Gurman recently reported that the 15-inch MacBook Air will be released at Apple's WWDC Global developer Conference in June.

In addition, Guo Mingyi said that Apple's M3 chip will be mass produced in the 2H23 (second half of 2023), slightly earlier than the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.
