It is reported that Samsung will begin mass production of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 hinges in early June. Previously, Samsung usually started production of hinges at the end of June. Due to the advance of hinge production, Revegnus revealed that Samsung will release new Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 folding screens at the end of July.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will use a different type of hinge that allows the phone to be completely flat and folded without leaving a small gap between the "two halves" of the phone. Samsung may need more time to make new designs for hinges.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 (SM-F946U) will have a 6.2inch external display, an internal 120Hz Super AMOLED display, a rear 50MP+12MP+10MP camera, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip and a 4400mAh battery, it has been revealed. It may not have an S Pen slot, but it will be compatible with S Pen Fold Edition.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 (SM-F731U) will also feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip with a 3.4-inch near-square secondary screen that can interact with notifications, quick setups and widgets without turning on the phone. It can also double as a better camera viewfinder.

Samsung's new generation of folding screen phones adopt a new touch screen technology, which uses water drop hinges and supports IPX8 waterproof.
