CTOnews.com, April 20 (Xinhua) Samsung's flagship mobile phones will once again dominate the Korean market in 2022. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has become the most popular smartphone in Korea in 2022. In fact, Samsung accounted for nine of the 10 most popular phones sold in South Korea in 2022, while Apple accounted for only one.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is at the top of South Korea's popularity rankings, in part because it is the only favorite choice for Galaxy Note fans. With the cancellation of the Note series, S Pen enthusiasts can only turn to the new Galaxy S22 Ultra model, which uses a more square design and embedded S Pen than other products in the S22 series.

Samsung sold 1 million Galaxy S22 Ultra phones in South Korea in 2022, according to market research firm Counterpoint Research. Sales were initially low because of the GOS controversy, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra slowly gained more attention. Even in North America, where Apple's iPhone dominates, the Galaxy S22 Ultra received a lot of attention in the second quarter, becoming the sixth-selling phone.

Another Samsung phone mentioned in the report is the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The folding screen flip phone was the second most successful smartphone in South Korea last year, after the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

More importantly, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 beat Apple iPhone and iPhone 13 ranked fourth on the list.

Samsung released the Galaxy S23 Ultra earlier this year and is currently developing the Galaxy Z Flip 5 series of folding screens, which are expected to be released in July-August. The next generation of folding screen flip phones are expected to be equipped with larger secondary screens, bringing richer interactive functions.
