CTOnews.com April 20 news, China Unicom issued an announcement on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange this afternoon, disclosing the March 2023 operating data. Data show that the number of users of China Unicom's 5G package has reached 223.8 million by March 2023. The number of large connection users is 899.8 million and the number of Internet of things users is about 415.7 million.

CTOnews.com Note: cumulative arrivals of "large connection" users = cumulative arrivals of mobile billing users + cumulative arrivals of fixed-line broadband users + cumulative arrivals of fixed-line local telephone users + cumulative arrivals of Internet of things terminal connections + cumulative arrivals of network dedicated line users.

For comparison, China Unicom had a total of 219.761 million users of the 5G package in February and 887.328 million users of the "Big connection" in February, and 872.75 million users of the "Big connection" in January 2023, of which 215.795 million were users of the 5G package and 3.9541 billion were connected to the Internet of things.

The company also announced Q1 results a few days ago. China Unicom's first-quarter operating revenue was 97.222 billion yuan, up 9.2% from the same period last year, and the growth rate reached the highest level in the same period in nearly a decade. The net profit in the first quarter was 2.266 billion yuan, up 11.6% from the same period last year.

In addition, the profit attributable to equity holders of China Unicom was 5.155 billion yuan, up 11.2% from a year earlier, and the profit scale reached a new high in the same period since the company went public.
