On April 19, Tucson held an eco-strategic appointment with the theme of "enhanced Smart Future" in Shanghai. At the scene of this appointment, Tucson released the latest intelligent driving product solution-Domain-controlled centralized Big perception Box (hereinafter referred to as "TS-Box").

The product will integrate Tucson's self-developed autopilot domain controller (TDC-TuSimple Domain Controller), centralized 4D Radar solution, centralized RTK-GNSS / INS positioning module and perception and location fusion algorithm, support access to OEM customer self-developed planning and control module, and achieve a more flexible self-driving function development mode.

According to Wang Naiyan, CTO of Tucson China, TS-Box can meet the self-driving needs of commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles in many scenarios and environments such as highways and cities, and later can optimize and upgrade the perceptual model in the form of push upgrade packages, providing low-cost one-stop solutions for OEM customers. On the whole, TS-Box has more advantages in terms of integration, performance, cost, reliability and development speed.

Li Haiquan, senior vice president of Tucson China CTO Wang Naiyan Tucson China Engineering, said that "the entire SoC-based domain controller plus domain control integrated sensor scheme can reduce the procurement and management cost of independent sensors by about 25%."

It is understood that TS-Box uses a centralized 4D radar scheme for domain control, and uses the high computing power TDC developed by Tucson to process the original data without a separate 4D radar signal processing chip; while saving costs, it greatly exceeds the existing "visual + 4D radar scheme" to help OEM customers quickly develop their own planning and control algorithms.

Li Haiquan, senior vice president of Tucson China Engineering, at the meeting, Tucson also signed in-depth cooperation with excellent partners in the industry, such as Shunyu Smart Collector, Tudatong, and Shanghai Longchuang in the future. After the cooperation is reached, ecological partners will give full play to their advantages in their respective fields, rely on ecological resources to participate in tackling core common technologies, promote the application and promotion of research results in the field of self-driving, and jointly promote the prosperity and development of self-driving ecology.

CTOnews.com learned that the cumulative total operating mileage of Tucson's future self-driving trucks in global testing, research and development, and commercial operation has exceeded 16 million km. In March this year, Tucson won the first batch of test notices for the innovative application of self-driving vehicles in Shanghai, becoming one of the first self-driving companies in China to win the notice.

It is worth mentioning that at the end of March, Tucson also launched a full stack of self-developed intelligent driving solutions-the "fuel-saving pilot" series of products. " The "fuel efficient pilot" series features Tucson's self-developed autopilot domain controller (ADC, based on the Nvidia Drive Orin chip) and integrates sensor input, high-performance middleware, vehicle control unit (VCU) and self-driving applications. " "fuel-saving pilot" series products include two versions: fuel-saving pilotage and fuel-saving pilotage Pro, focusing on fuel-saving, safety, to meet high-speed point-to-point navigation. The fuel-efficient pilot Pro version can support L3-level autopilot in specific scenarios.
