CTOnews.com, April 19 (Xinhua)-- Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), owned by Tata Motors, India, announced on Wednesday local time the latest in a series of global strategies to "reshape the future"-rebranding and electrification. While chasing global competitors, it will also increase investment in electric vehicles.

The British luxury carmaker is said to have promised to launch a new all-electric range Rover SUV in 2025, and orders for the model will open later this year.

The company will invest 15 billion pounds in electric vehicles over the next five years (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 128.25 billion yuan). Earlier, the carmaker had said it would invest 2.5 billion pounds a year in electric vaporization.

Jaguar Land Rover said its Halewood plant in Merseyside, north-west England, would become an all-electric manufacturing plant, with its next-generation platform architecture, EMA, exclusive to pure electricity. The investment will help Jaguar Land Rover create a fully electrified future of new modern luxury, helping to achieve the goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2039.

In addition, the Jaguar brand will bring three new products, the first of which will be a four-door GT pure electric model. The new car, based on Jaguar's exclusive electric architecture, the JEA platform, has a range of 700km, starts at £100000 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 855000 yuan) and goes on sale in 2025.
