Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com April 19 news, at today's International Automotive key Technology Forum, Ai Fengjie, vice president and product director of BYD Automotive Engineering Research Institute, said that at present, the domestic intelligent basic technology is relatively weak, and the key technology has become a very big problem in the intelligent transformation of the domestic industry.
Ai Fengjie believes that although intelligence will gradually become more important to application than to foundation in the future, intelligence is still at the stage of comparing hardware and computing power at this stage. In our country, the research of AI algorithm and intelligent interaction technology is still weak.
As we all know, the most joyful thing about BYD is the three-electricity system of its new energy vehicles, while its driving assistance system is often criticized, and even many models are difficult to see several OTA updates throughout the year.
In June last year, Wang Chuanfu said at a shareholders' meeting that "the first half of the new energy vehicle is electric and the second half is intelligent." In the era of automobile electrification, BYD achieved a sales explosion through deep layouts such as self-developed three-power technology, automotive chips and vertical integration of the supply chain, and ended the first half perfectly with a market capitalization of more than one trillion yuan.
In terms of intelligence, BYD still has a long way to go in terms of the overall experience of the intelligent cockpit system, auxiliary driving performance, or subdivided into main control chips, AI chips, operating systems, algorithms, radar, cameras and other hardware and software.
In terms of chips, BYD Semiconductor can naturally be competent with the manufacturing capacity accumulated for many years, but the difficulty of autopilot chips lies in the calculation. The higher the level of autopilot, the more data you have to deal with, and the higher the computing power is needed. this is a completely blank field for BYD, and BYD's intelligent era has just begun.
In March this year, Nvidia announced that starting from next year, BYD, the world's largest electric car manufacturer, will use the Nvidia Drive Orin centralized computing platform in its full range of vehicles, further expanding the use of DRIVE Orin in many models of its dynasty and ocean series cars, and bringing safer and smarter vehicles to the market.
Both Nvidia and BYD believe that the cars of the future will be programmable, moving from many embedded controllers to high-performance centralized computers-delivered and enhanced through software updates throughout the car's life cycle.
Nvidia DRIVE Orin, currently the most powerful automotive processor on the market, has become the AI engine of choice for a new generation of new energy vehicles, robot taxis, buses and trucks in the industry since it was put into production last year, as reported by CTOnews.com.
