Chen Jun, an industry analyst, predicts that shipments of domestic OLED mobile phone screens will reach 220 million in 2023, an increase of nearly 40 per cent year-on-year, according to China Business report.

The rise of domestic OLED mobile phone screen benefits from the continuous maturity of local panel factory technology and cost advantages, domestic mobile phone brands also continue to increase the purchase of OLED display screen, in order to enhance the competitiveness of products. Chen Jun estimates that Chinese mainland panel factory's penetration in the global smartphone OLED panel market will rise to 38% this year, up nearly 10 percentage points from a year earlier.

As far as CTOnews.com knows, at present, the main OLED panel factories in China are BOE, Vicino, Shen Tianma and TCL Huaxing, etc. These companies are increasing the investment and expansion of OLED business to meet the market demand. According to Omdia, in the global small and medium-sized OLED panel market in 2022, Samsung accounted for 56% of shipments, BOE accounted for 12% of shipments, LG Display (LGD) accounted for 11% of shipments, Vicino accounted for 6% of shipments, and Hui Optoelectronics accounted for 5% of shipments, ranking in the top five respectively. Samsung's share fell 5 percentage points year-on-year compared with 2021, and LGD moved from second to third place. In the future, Chinese panel manufacturers have the potential to further increase shipments.
