Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen South China Wu Yanzu for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com April 19 news, players recently discovered that Capcom on Steam for "Resident Evil 2" remake and "Resident Evil 3" remake launch update, removed ray tracing function.

According to Capcom's latest official news, this change is not an officially expected removal, but a Bug that will be fixed in subsequent updates.

To all Resident Evil 2/3 Remake players on Steam:

We noticed an ongoing issue where ray tracing options did not appear in graphics menus and presets. We will address this issue in future updates, and we apologize for any inconvenience!

Capcom also announced that starting in July, it will no longer support DX11 versions of Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake, only DX12 version, DX12 itself supports light pursuit, and these two games also have light pursuit options before.

As CTOnews.com previously reported, Capcom announced in June 2022 that it would bring a next-generation update to Resident Evil 2/3, with free upgrades for players who own the game, including 4K support, high frame rate, ray tracing, 3D audio and more.
