CTOnews.com Adobe Firefly is a set of tools based on generative AI models that can create and convert audio, video, illustrations, and 3D models via text prompts, just like Dall-E and ChatGPT. Adobe first demonstrated the tool last month, and on Monday it announced a series of upgrades designed to further empower users with Creative Cloud video and audio apps. These new features will be added to Firefly's beta program later this year.

According to CTOnews.com, Firefly's functionality already covers Adobe's ecosystem, including applications such as Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects and Photoshop, but you'll have to wait until beta programs are available to experience them. The new features announced on Monday are designed to help professional video editors cut down on their tedious work, such as raising color levels, inserting placeholder images, adding effects, automatically recommending B-roll assist shots for projects, and so on. Editors only need to tell Firefly what they want through text prompts, and let algorithms do the rest.

These new features include "text to color enhancements," a wide range of features that adjust brightness and saturation levels through natural language cues, change the time of day and even the season of the year. Generative AI also extends to audio, where background music and sound effects can be inserted by describing what the editor wants. The animated font feature seen at Adobe's launch last month will also be available soon, as well as an automatic b-roll feature that analyzes the content of scripts to generate storyboards and recommend video clips. Firefly can even create personalized tutorial guides to help new users learn how to use these features.
