Fengyun 3G satellite is the first Leo non-solar synchronous tilt orbit meteorological satellite in China, and it is also the first in China and the third active precipitation measurement satellite in the world. The satellite is equipped with active precipitation measurement radar, microwave imager, medium resolution spectral imager and global navigation satellite occultation detector per set of operational loads, which will fill the gap in domestic precipitation three-dimensional tomography data. So far, China has successfully launched "two generations four" a total of 20 Fengyun meteorological satellites.
According to the Central Meteorological Bureau, 08:46 on April 17, Urumqi Meteorological Satellite ground Station and Guangzhou Meteorological Satellite ground Station of Kashgar Sub-Station successfully received real-time broadcast data from the first orbit of Fengyun 3G satellite (referred to as "MPT"). This was the first successful "hand-in-hand" success between Fengyun 3G satellite and ground application system, and laid a good foundation for subsequent in-orbit testing.

Fengyun 3G satellite carries 4 operational loads and 2 test loads, which can provide three-dimensional structure information of precipitation in the middle and low latitudes of the world.
"compared with other Fengyun 3 satellites, the orbit altitude of Fengyun 3G is lower, only more than 400 kilometers. Affected by atmospheric resistance, the satellite orbit altitude will decline, which will have an impact on the reception time prediction of each station. The ground system development team successfully transmitted the first orbit data through scientific simulation and experiments before satellite launch."
In general, after the satellite enters the measurement and control arc, the ground will issue instructions to the satellite to carry out data transmission and load startup. After receiving the satellite downtransmission data, each satellite ground station will transmit it to the data processing center of the National Satellite Meteorological Center for processing, and judge the working status of the boot load of the satellite.
"the first and second orbit data received mainly test the power-on status of the global navigation satellite occultation detector and the medium resolution spectral imager-precipitation type on Fengyun 3G. from the current data, the two loads start normally, and the data downtransmission is stable."
In the coming week, the National Satellite Meteorological Center will also test the two test loads of the high-precision scaler on Fengyun-3G, the short-wave infrared polarization multi-angle imager, and the microwave imager-precipitation main load. CTOnews.com learned that in May, the satellite's core load precipitation measurement radar will also be turned on for testing.
In the follow-up, the National Satellite Meteorological Center will carry out on-orbit tests, including load performance and data quality, calibration, positioning, inversion, etc., to fully verify the satellite-to-earth integration index of the satellite platform and load, and will also carry out special application system testing.
