On April 17, CTOnews.com, Ziguang Zhanrui announced the launch of W217, a smart wearable solution with cellular communication function, which can be used in children's watches, student cards, adult cellular watches and other categories.

W217 has ultra-high integration. The common functions of wearable devices such as communication, radio frequency, power supply, positioning and Wi-Fi are integrated on a single chip platform. Flash and PSRAM are encapsulated in the chip to realize the all in one single chip platform scheme.

W217 chip adopts Open CPU architecture, AP and CP work independently, and has the technical characteristics of small size, thin thickness, ultra-low power consumption and high integrity, which provides more flexible design space for terminal products. Support VoLTE HD voice, eSIM independent calls and other functions.

W217 is manufactured by 22nm LP process, and the power consumption of small chip is further reduced. The modem of W217 adopts low-power intelligent search optimization strategy and remote RRC (CTOnews.com Note: radio Resource Control, Radio Resource Control) technology, which can dynamically adjust the power consumption of modem and last longer.

W217 supports multi-stage ultra-low power consumption mode. At the lowest power level, the standby power consumption is 1.5uA, the children's watch is normally used for more than 5 days, and the adult watch is normally used for 7-14 days.

W217 is equipped with lightweight RTOS system. Ziguang Zhanrui completed the upgrade of the wearable RTOS system in 2022 and built the JavaScript framework in the RTOS system using native components and modules, which not only retained the original performance and power consumption advantages, but also reduced the development cost and threshold for solution vendors and third-party application developers.

So far, Ziguang Zhanrui has joined hands with Aliyun, Xiaodu, Himalayan and other application manufacturers to introduce social networking, mobile payment, audio and video, dial, location, storage, map navigation, taxi travel, voice assistant and other applications on the wearable RTOS platform.

The security aspect of W217 supports Arm TrustZone technology to ensure that the software under normal operation cannot directly access the data in the security zone.
