Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, April 17 (Xinhua)-- Google recently discovered a serious security vulnerability in Chrome browser that has been exploited by hackers and could lead to damage to users' data and computers. To solve this problem, Google urgently launched a security update and advised all Chrome users to install it as soon as possible.

This vulnerability, named CVE-2023-2033, is a type obfuscation vulnerability that occurs in the V8 JavaScript engine used by Chrome browsers. Simply put, the type obfuscation vulnerability is a Bug that allows access to memory using the wrong type, resulting in out-of-bounds reading and writing of memory. The danger of this vulnerability is that a hacker can create a malicious HTML page that exploits the corruption of heap memory to execute arbitrary code.

According to Google's threat Analysis Group (TAG), this vulnerability has been exploited by hackers. Although the exact scope and extent of the vulnerability has not yet been released, Google rated it a "high" problem and issued an announcement on Friday to alert users.

To protect users, Google has released a security update of 112.0.5615.121 to fix this vulnerability and other undisclosed issues. In general, Chrome browsers are updated automatically, but users can also manually check to see if the latest version is installed. Users can click on the three point menus in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser, select "help", and then select "about Chrome" to view their version number.

As one of the most popular browsers in the world, Chrome has more than 3 billion users. Therefore, this loophole is a huge threat to network security. CTOnews.com recommends that all Chrome users update their browsers as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary losses.
