Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, April 17 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft plans to add the magic of artificial intelligence to the window layout (Snap Layouts) feature of Windows 11, according to a February 2023 report. It is reported that Windows 11 (or its successor) will use machine learning to predict which applications users want to rank and in which order. Although Microsoft has not yet announced the artificial intelligence-driven window layout feature, the latest version of Windows 11 developer Channel has allowed users to test a new smart window collage feature.

In Windows 11 build 23435, enabling two hidden features allows the operating system to generate window tile presets, providing the ability to arrange open applications with one click. These presets appear under the current window layout function, so the user is still free to adjust the position of the window.

Here is a quick preview of the new smart window collage feature:

Currently, window collage prediction (snap predictions) is only valid when the user hovers over the maximize button. Window assist, the panel that appears at the top of the screen when you move a window on the screen, does not currently support prediction. Another limitation is that the user cannot select the application that appears in the recommendation, and Windows does not seem to take into account the background of the user's current workflow.

How do I enable upgraded window layout in Windows 11 build 23435?

1. Download ViveTool from GitHub and extract the files to a convenient and easy-to-find folder.

2. Press Win + X and select the terminal (administrator).

Use the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut key or click the down arrow button at the top of the window to switch the Windows terminal to the command prompt configuration file.

4. Use the CD command to navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool file. For example, if you put ViveTool in C:\ Vive, type CD C:\ Vive.

5. Enter vivetool / enable / id:41863571,42589465 and press Enter.

6. Restart your computer.

CTOnews.com Tip: be sure to back up your data before using ViVeTool applications or similar tools to enable experimental features.
