The KB5012170 update dates back to December 2021, when users reported several problems after installing the update, and Microsoft withdrew the update.

Microsoft released the update again in April this year, but after users reported installing the update again, the device could not boot or even enter troubleshooting mode, requiring a BitLocker recovery key or system restore.
