CTOnews.com April 14 news, an attacker recently successfully hacked into data storage giant Western Digital (Western Digital), stealing about 10TB important data, including a large amount of customer information.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Western Digital issued an announcement on April 3 that it discovered that several of its systems had been accessed by unauthorized third parties on March 26, which meant that the company faced a security breach.

The company said the incident could cause further damage to its business operations and was taking steps to ensure operational security, requiring systems and services such as offline WD My Cloud Home. Western Digital is also working to restore affected infrastructure and services, and data leaks could continue to cause disruption to some of its business operations.

Attackers shared a Western Digital code signing certificate with foreign technology media TechCrunch, indicating that they can now digitally sign files to impersonate Western Digital.

The hackers also shared phone numbers allegedly belonging to executives of several companies. TechCrunch released these figures. Most phones ring, but go to automatic voicemail messages. Two of the phone numbers have voicemail greetings that mention the names of executives the hackers claim to be associated with those numbers.
