CTOnews.com, April 14, according to the latest report released by email security and threat testing company Vade, a total of 562.4 million were detected in the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 284.8 million over the previous quarter and 102 per cent month-on-month.

Among them, January is the first quarter of this year, the largest number of phishing emails, reaching 488.5 million. CTOnews.com also learned from the report that the number of malicious emails was 52.3 million, down 7% from the previous month and 13% from a year earlier.

Vade said in its report that the new phishing activity tested in March this year combined a variety of sophisticated technologies to steal victims' cryptocurrency wallets.

The campaign uses Google translator to bypass the detection of email security tools, uses JavaScript and CSS to confuse phishing pages, and uses interstellar file system (IPFS) to decentralize phishing kits.
