CTOnews.com, April 13, Adobe today announced updates to some of its creative cloud applications, including Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Adobe said the new version of Premiere Pro is by far the "fastest and most reliable" version, with background auto-save, system reset options, additional GPU acceleration and other features.

According to CTOnews.com, the update will introduce a blockbuster feature that uses artificial intelligence to enable text editing and video editing. This means that editors can edit the video by modifying the automatically generated video text, thus greatly improving the editing efficiency and speed.

The function of text editing video is based on Adobe Sensei machine learning technology, which has been used to generate subtitles automatically. Users can identify different speakers, modify the subtitle content and convert it to different subtitle formats, or convert closed subtitles into graphics in order to adjust the open subtitles in more detail. Through text editing video, users can directly sort and adjust the video on the timeline by modifying the voice-to-text text. Simply put, editors can arrange subtitles in any order, and video clips automatically adjust the order on the timeline. Videos are basically converted into searchable text that can be quickly edited by matching specific words and phrases.

At present, the video editing tool with similar function is Descript, but Premiere Pro is the first to integrate this function into a comprehensive non-linear editing system.

The new automatic tone mapping and log color detection features allow editors to mix and match HDR videos from different sources in the same SDR project without having to use LUT or manually balance the video to get consistent colors. Other new features include sequence locking for collaborative editing, online status indicators, and offline work capabilities that allow editors to work on collaborative projects offline and release changes later without overwriting others' work.

As for After Effects, it provides a new properties panel for faster access to key animation settings. The panel is context-sensitive (context-sensitive) and automatically displays the most important controls based on your choice. Adobe also provides performance optimizations, such as faster timeline layer selection and multi-frame rendering of shapes, as well as new keyboard shortcuts to select track masks.

The latest versions of Premiere Pro and After effects, including beta versions based on text editing and automatic tone mapping, will be available in May 2023.
