CTOnews.com, April 13 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- Sony Semiconductor Solutions (SSS) today issued a press release announcing that it has signed a strategic collaboration framework with Raspberry pie to take a minority stake in the latter to jointly develop marginal artificial Intelligence (Edge AI) solutions.

CTOnews.com translated Sony's press release as follows: "through this strategic investment, the company strengthens their relationship and provides the global Raspberry Pi community with a development platform based on SSS edge artificial intelligence solutions."

The two sides will jointly develop and promote AITRIOS, an AI-based sensing platform that is a "edge" service between data and the cloud.

The exact size of the investment was not disclosed, and Eben Upton, co-founder and CEO of raspberry pie, said it would raise the same amount in 2021, when it raised $45 million.
