CTOnews.com, April 12 (Xinhua)-- the second season of Game of Thrones prequel "the Family of Dragons" has now begun filming, with the official release of a picture of the Iron Throne set, with the caption "it's time to return to King's Landing."

According to reports, the HBO TV series is being filmed at Livesdon Warner Bros. Studios, and the first public photo shows the Iron Throne in the hall of Red Castle. The cast for season 2 includes Matt Smith, Olivia Cook, Emma Darcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabian Frankel, Ivan Mitchell, Tom Green Carney, Sonia Mizuno and Reese Evans.

The Family of Dragons, adapted from George R R Martin's Fire and Blood, is set 200 years before Game of Thrones and tells the story of the Targaryen family. In August last year, the first episode of the show was released on HBO Max, making it the most watched premiere in its history.
