For some time last year, the industry debated whether Russia would withdraw from the International Space Station after the director of the Russian Space Agency hinted that it would withdraw from the International Space Station project in 2024. However, the Russian Space Agency later informed NASA that it would not withdraw from the project until at least 2028.

Earlier today, Vladimir Kozhvnikov, deputy chief designer of Russian Energy Rocket and Space Company, said that the construction of the Russian orbital station would start in 2024.

The Russian rail station will be completed in two steps between 2028 and 2035, the draft design will be completed in the summer of 2023, and the full construction of the station is scheduled to be completed by 2032, instead of 2035 as previously planned, he said.
