Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

Some time ago, I did a project to migrate exchange2010 to exchange 2013. After the completion of the project, exchange2010 was uninstalled. However, although the customer created a public folder database in exchange2010, but did not use it, he did not migrate the public folder to exchange 2013 when upgrading, which led to the problems mentioned below. I hope it will be helpful to share the problems encountered below.

Problem description:

After migrating the mailbox from exchange 2010 to exchange 2013, exchange 2010 was uninstalled, resulting in a constant prompt after logging in to outlook: the exchange administrator has made changes, requiring you to exit and restart outlook, as shown below:

Troubleshooting process:

We deleted the public folder when we uninstalled exchange 2010, but the public folder database is also linked to the database. After the public folder is deleted, the linked public folder database on these databases is not cleared. Let's check it with the following command:

It is found that all databases are linked to deleted objects in the public folder database.

Through the ADSI editor, we can see that the following key values exist in all databases:

This key value is the linked public folder database in the database.

Then we have found the problem and the solution. We just need to empty the msExchHomePublicMDB value in all the database properties in the ADSI editor, as shown below:

After emptying the msExchHomePublicMDB value in all the database properties, the re-login outlook is normal, and the dialog box asking to exit outlook restart will no longer pop up, and the problem is solved.
