CTOnews.com, April 12, many users are disappointed that the wireless charging speed of Samsung Galaxy S23 series phones is even slower than that of last year's S22 series.

According to PhoneArena tests, all three S23 phones are much slower than the wireless charging speed of the S22 series. The worst performer is the flagship S23 Ultra, which and the S22 Ultra both carry 5000 Ma batteries and support 15W wireless charging, but tests using official chargers found that the wireless charging speed of the S23 Ultra was 33 per cent slower than that of the S22 Ultra. The S22 Ultra takes 1 hour and 58 minutes to be fully charged with a wireless charger, while the S23 Ultra takes 2 hours and 37 minutes, takes an extra 39 minutes, and the entire charging process is slower than the official 15W.

Although the other two phones in the S23 series have also increased their battery capacity, the wireless charging time has increased by only 15 minutes, not as sharply as the S23 Ultra. Some people think that fast charging will affect battery life, but there is a lot of practical evidence on the market that this concern is unfounded.

Apple's iPhone 14 Pro model has also been tested, and data show that the wireless charging speed of the 14 Pro Max is about the same as that of the S23 Ultra.

It is speculated that there may be some heat dissipation problems in S23 Ultra, which leads to the decrease of wireless charging speed. But even 15W wireless charging is not "fast charging". At present, the fastest wireless charging scheme on the market can reach 50W, and manufacturers such as Samsung, Apple and Google are lagging far behind the advanced charging technology provided by Chinese manufacturers.

According to CTOnews.com, the 15W wireless charging rate of Samsung Galaxy S23 series is only applicable to the company's own charger, and the speed limit for using third-party chargers is 10W, even if the charger supports 15W.
