CTOnews.com, April 11 (Xinhua)-- Sony launched its compact flagship phone, the Xperia XZ2 Compact, in the first half of 2018, but then the series of phones faded out of view. After the iPhone 12 mini, the flagship small screen has sparked a heated debate, and many Android fans hope that more manufacturers will launch similar small screen phones.

With Apple abandoning the mini and switching to the Plus, Sony may no longer stick to the small screen route. Ross Young, an analyst at DSCC, said the next Sony Xperia Compact phone is not as small as people thought and will have a 6.05inch screen.

For comparison, the Apple iPhone 13 mini has a 5.4in screen, the Asus ZenFone 9 has a 5.9inch screen, and the Samsung Galaxy S23 has a 6.1inch panel.

There is no more information about the phone, but it is hard to believe that Sony will launch another "Compact" model in a few years' time, maybe even the Xperia 5V, and Ross Young has confirmed that the phone will be part of the "Xperia 5" series.
