CTOnews.com April 11, BMW Group is now releasing quarterly delivery data, delivering a total of 588138 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce models in the first quarter of this year, down 1.5% from a year earlier. Among them, BMW and MINI sold 64647 pure trams, an increase of 83.2% over the same period last year.

Despite the "challenging business environment", BMW remains confident in its 2023 guidelines, the company said in a statement.

"BMW Group sales are expected to grow slightly for the whole of 2023," said Pieter Nota, a member of the BMW Group's customer, brand and sales management committee. "the main drivers of growth in 2023 will be pure electric vehicles and high-end models."

By region, BMW achieved sales growth only in the US, with sales up 11.4 per cent to 89750 vehicles. CTOnews.com learned from BMW officials that BMW's sales in China were down 6.6%, but the company said the Chinese market was expected to stabilize this year. In addition, sales in Europe fell 1.9 per cent, mainly due to export and production bans in the Russian market.

It is worth mentioning that sales of electric vehicles under BMW's core brand more than doubled in the first quarter from a year earlier to 55979.

In the Chinese market, BMW Group delivered more than 194000 BMW and MINI brand models. Among them, the sales of pure electric models are close to 20, 000, an increase of more than three times that of the same period last year. At present, BMW has access to more than 500000 public charging piles across the country, covering more than 320 cities.
