CTOnews.com, April 11, according to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Berkshire Hathaway sold 248.05 million BYD shares on March 31 at an average reduction price of HK $217.67 per share, totaling about HK $540 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 474 million yuan), with its shareholding falling to 10.90% from 11.13% previously.

On September 29, 2008, Berkshire Hathaway subscribed 225 million BYD shares in Hong Kong for $230 million (currently about 1.582 billion yuan) at HK $8 a share. On August 24, 2022, Buffett, who had held shares for 14 years, reduced his holdings for the first time. Since then, Berkshire Hathaway has reduced its stake in BYD several times.

In December, Li Ke, executive vice president of BYD, said that although Berkshire Hathaway sold more than a stake in the company in 2022, its founder and "god of shares" Warren Buffett was still very optimistic about BYD's future and would never give it up.

In March 2023, BYD sold 207080 new energy vehicles, with a cumulative sales of 552076 this year, an increase of 92.81 percent over the same period last year. Among them, BYD's dynasty brand sold 147443 vehicles, Ocean brand sold 48248 vehicles, and Tengli brand sold 10398 vehicles.

BYD sold a total of 13312 new energy passenger vehicles overseas in March 2023, and the total installed capacity of power batteries and energy storage batteries of new energy vehicles in March was about 9.891 GWhGrady and the total installed capacity in 2023 was about 26.991GWh.

BYD's net profit in 2022 was 16.622 billion yuan, an increase of 445.86 percent over the same period last year. For the whole year, 1881669 new cars were produced and 1802464 vehicles were sold, an increase of 151.71 percent and 149.88 percent respectively.
