According to news from CTOnews.com on April 11, CTOnews.com officially learned that in March, the production and sales of passenger cars in China completed 214.9 million and 2.017 million vehicles respectively, an increase of 25.3% and 22% respectively over the previous month, and an increase of 14.3% and 8.2% respectively over the same period last year. Of this total, domestic sales of traditional fuel passenger vehicles were 1.169 million, a decrease of 128000 over the same period last year, an increase of 21.3% from the previous month and a decrease of 9.9% from the same period last year. From January to March, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 526.2 and 5.138 million respectively, down 4.3 per cent and 7.3 per cent respectively compared with the same period last year.

From January to March, the total sales of the top 10 enterprise groups in car sales were 5.057 million, down 7.8% from the same period last year, accounting for 83.2% of total car sales, down 1 percentage point from the same period last year. Among the top 10 enterprises in car sales, compared with the same period last year, the sales volume of the four enterprise groups increased significantly, showing double-digit growth, followed by BYD, Chery, Tesla and BAIC. Other enterprises have declined to varying degrees.

In March, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 674, 000 and 653000 respectively, an increase of 44.8% and 34.8% respectively over the same period last year, with a market share of 26.6%. From January to March, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 1.65 million and 1.586 million respectively, an increase of 27.7% and 26.2% respectively over the same period last year, and the market share reached 26.1%.

In March, China's power battery load 27.8GWh, an increase of 29.7 percent over the same period last year, an increase of 26.7 percent over the previous month. Among them, ternary battery 8.7GWh accounted for 31.4% of the total installed capacity, an increase of 6.3% over the same period last year and 29.8% compared with the previous year; iron phosphate battery 19.0GWh accounted for 68.5% of the total installed capacity, up 44.4% from the same period last year and 25.3% from the previous year. From January to March, the cumulative installed capacity of power batteries in China was 65.9GWh, an increase of 28.4% over the same period last year.

The China Automobile Association said that the bright spot of last year's auto market continued in the first quarter of this year. New energy vehicles continued to grow rapidly on the basis of a high base in the same period, with a market share of 26.1% and automobile exports at a high level. Vehicle exports increased by 70.6% in the first quarter compared with the same period last year, and the share of Chinese brands increased steadily.
