CTOnews.com, April 11 / PRNewswire-Asianet /-- former Twitter CEO Palag Agrawal (Parag Agrawal) and two other former executives sued Twitter today, claiming they did not receive more than $1 million in reimbursement related to federal investigations and other legal matters.

The plaintiffs claimed that they had been investigated by agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) for their role as Twitter executives, demanding that they "expedite the ruling and require the defendants to comply with their obligations to advance legal fees and expenses related to ongoing litigation and investigations". However, Twitter rejected their request and did not acknowledge its obligations.

The lawyer for the three plaintiffs provided Twitter with a legal fee invoice, "which reasonably proves that the plaintiff incurred more than $1 million in fees, all of which need to be prepaid to the plaintiff."

The lawsuit also requires Twitter to advance all costs incurred by the plaintiff to date. The plaintiff also wants to reimburse the fees incurred in the lawsuit against Twitter in order to obtain compensation for the early fees, and ordered to "declare that the plaintiff is entitled to advance any future legal fees, costs and fees related to the lawsuit".

Agrawal, Vijaya Vijaya Gadde, former chief legal officer, and Ned Segal, former chief financial officer, were among the executives fired by current CEO Elon Elon Musk last October. Musk fired the executives "for some reason" after buying Twitter for $44 billion, possibly to avoid paying generous severance compensation.

The plaintiffs also said they were among the defendants in a securities class action against Twitter and its executives. In addition, Garde incurred additional fees for another civil case and a congressional hearing.

As of CTOnews.com, Twitter has yet to respond to the lawsuit. The company still automatically responds with a stool expression to all requests sent to its public relations email. Since Musk bought Twitter, the company has faced a number of lawsuits from suppliers, landlords and consultants who claim they didn't get the money they deserve.
