Tesla CEO Musk tweeted today that the Shanghai energy storage superplant will expand capacity for the California plant Megapack.

According to CTOnews.com previously reported, Tesla energy storage super factory project is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2023 and put into production in the second quarter of 2024. At the initial stage, the annual output of commercial energy storage batteries will reach 10,000 units, and the energy storage scale will be nearly 40GWh. The product range covers the global market.

Tesla currently has seven major factories around the world, including five superfactories, the Fremont, California factory and the Megafactory battery factory.
