First, the "home page" of File Explorer is integrating Microsoft 365 and will provide recommended files under the "recommended" files section. These recommended files will have large thumbnails, so you can easily view the files.

Second, Microsoft is updating the title bar and moving options such as "New" or "copy" to the file / folder view below the title. This reduces clutter and leaves room for search box functions, which are also being updated to provide faster results and modern design.

File Explorer's Microsoft 365 Integrated File Explorer is getting a new details pane that is more touch-friendly and supported by Microsoft 365. Thanks to the Microsoft 365 integration, users can view emails, topics, comments, tags, and more details about files shared in your organization directly in File Explorer.

The last important improvement in the File Explorer folder view in the details pane is the addition of a "gallery" feature to the new file manager. This feature allows you to browse photos on your computer in the File Manager and has a beautiful format similar to the modern Windows 11 application. When you click the Gallery button, it automatically displays a series of photos sorted by date in the Pictures folder. You can click on the photos and see their properties in the details pane. You can also select the location where you want the photo to be displayed through the Collection drop-down menu.
